Bed bugs have become a hot topic in the dialysis industry. Treatment chairs infested with bed bugs and patients transporting them home can quickly destroy the reputation of a facility. They are resilient and eliminating them is complex. Having addressed the issue for years, we have implemented a full mobile solution which is 100% effective without using any pesticides, which are generally ineffective because the pests simply crawl further into the recliner and lay dormant for months. Our ProServe bed bug treatment includes transporting our mobile unit to your facility and heating the chairs to a temperature that ensures immediate death of all bed bugs at any stage of development. We then provide a certification by chair serial number to offer peace of mind to staff, patients and inspectors that the chairs are free of all living bed bugs. The quicker you address bed bugs and put the issue behind you, the better. As part of our ProServe maintenance program, our quarterly visits include looking for bed bugs so our clients are always one step ahead.
Tired of replacing patient recliner upholstered backs due to discoloration and cracking near the patient’s headrest area? Try this tip!
The discoloration near the patient’s headrest are on your patient treatment recliners is caused by oils and haircare products that leech into the vinyl. In addition to creating an unsightly appearance, these fluids break down the plasticizers in the vinyl, causing it to become brittle and crack over time.
The recliners are disinfected with a diluted bleach solution between treatments, but this doesn’t degrease the vinyl. To keep your chair back supple and clean, simply clean this area periodically with a household degreaser, such as Formula 409.
We can also install an inexpensive accessory called a headrest protective cover that is a square piece of vinyl that matches your recliner and protects this area from discoloration and cracking, ensuring many years of useful life for the chair back and eliminating the need to replace the expensive chair back.
