Why it works (and is far superior to other forms of treatment):
The Bed bug issue has significantly increased for several reasons:
- The EPA has banned many pesticides from use by even expert exterminators.
- Bed bugs have built up a resistance to many of the chemicals that are still in use.
- The chemicals that are allowed and used often do not penetrate to eggs and dormant bugs that can live for months after the insecticide has lost potency.
- As Baby Boomers age, the growing dialysis patient population is increasing the incidents of exposure and transferal.
- As our population travels increasingly both domestically and abroad, we visit areas of infestation and become carriers.
How it Works:
- We transport our mobile heating unit to your location. This is a large enclosed trailer with no exterior markings referencing pest control, so your treatment is discreet.
- We load up to 15 standard size patient recliners per treatment and seal it.
- We strategically position electronic probes to constantly monitor temperatures at the heater output point, ambient temperature in the heating unit, and several points inside the chairs.
- We use our patented low emissions heating system to slowly raise the ambient temperature inside the trailer and record temperature readings from each probe every 10 minutes.
- When the inside temperature of each chair reaches 135F, we hold it for 30 minutes. This temperature is deadly to bed bugs, but completely safe for chairs (even those with power, heat and massage features).
- After 30 minutes at 135F, we remove the chairs from the heating unit and return them the facility bed bug free!
- After each treatment, we provide a document listing the serial number of each chair and certifying them to free of living bed bugs at any stage of development.
Why it works (and is far superior to other forms of treatment):
- Bed bugs are extremely resilient, resistant to insecticides and can hide inside patient recliners in a dormant state for months. Our ProServe heat treatment brings every part of the recliner (including the center of the seat and back foam) to a deadly temperature, so there is no place to hide.
- Heat treatments are completely non-toxic.
- The bed bug thermal death point occurs at 20 minutes of exposure to temperatures exceeding 118F. Our ProServe treatment brings the temperature to 135F for a duration of 30 minutes, ensuring total annihilation.
